Grok Bot is the always-on AI agent from xAI, now SpaceX Super Intelligence. What it does, which plans include it, and how its cloud computer works.

Short answer
Grok Bot is an AI agent from the makers of Grok. You give a Bot a job, like researching leads, writing a weekly report or building a website, and it works on an always-on cloud computer with a browser, files and a terminal, while you do something else. It launched in beta on August 11, 2026 (announcement). There's no separate price: it comes with The X Subscription from Premium ($30 a month) up, with some older Cursor and SuperGrok plans, and as a free trial credit. It has apps for Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android.
Who makes Grok Bot
Grok Bot comes from the company that makes Grok. It was called xAI, then SpaceXAI after SpaceX bought it, and its site now reads SpaceX Super Intelligence. Grok Bot runs on Cursor's cloud: you sign in with a Cursor account, Cursor's servers host the Bots' computers and count usage, and its help pages live on cursor.com as well as docs.x.ai.
What Grok Bot can do
Examples from xAI's use cases and its August 26 update:
- Research 25 accounts in your CRM and draft outreach for you to approve.
- Find 20 job candidates who aren't in your hiring system yet and draft messages to them.
- Send a weekly expense summary that matches receipts and flags policy exceptions.
- Reproduce a bug in a staging site and write down the steps.
- Send a daily chief-of-staff digest, with sources.
- Build a website, buy a domain and put the site live.
- Join meetings and send summaries.
- Turn a post on X into a task: tag @bot on it.
How Grok Bot works
- Many Bots. You can create several, each with its own role and memory. Your name and time zone are shared across them.
- One computer. Your account gets one always-on cloud computer with a browser, files and a terminal, shared by all your Bots. Each Bot works on its own screen, and you can take over for sign-ins and CAPTCHAs (docs). The computers run in the US.
- Apps. Bots use plugins from Connect Apps, which every Bot on your account shares: Gmail (one mailbox at a time), Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides, Slack, Notion, Zoom, SharePoint, X and 1Password. An Email plugin gives your Bots their own address at mail.grokbot.com (Cursor). For anything else, you ask a Bot in chat to add an MCP server.
- Approvals. Before risky actions a Bot asks, and you choose Allow once, Always allow or Deny. An Auto Review model checks some actions too, but not every side effect (security).
- Routines and group chats. Show a Bot a job once and save it as a routine it repeats, or put several Bots in one chat.
- Where you talk to it: the Grok Bot apps, X Chat, Slack for shared Bots, or by tagging @bot on X.
What Grok Bot costs
Grok Bot has no price of its own. Since October 12 it's part of The X Subscription, which shares one weekly usage pool between Grok, Grok Bot and Cursor:
| Plan | Price | Grok Bot |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | No |
| Plus | $8 a month | No |
| Premium | $30 a month ($300 a year) | Yes |
| Super | $100 a month | Yes |
| Ultra | $200 a month | Yes |
Source: X Subscription pricing. It's also included with:
- Older Cursor plans: Pro, Pro+, Ultra and Teams, now called legacy plans, with Grok Bot usage counted separately. Cursor Enterprise turns it on through its account team.
- Linked xAI plans: SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy, X Premium+ and self-serve Grok Business seats. Not SuperGrok Lite or Grok Enterprise.
New accounts get a trial: a usage credit for seven days. Usage resets weekly on every plan (Cursor).
Grok Bot vs Grok vs Grok Build
- Grok is the chatbot at grok.com, in the Grok app and in X. It answers questions and has its own connectors. Grok app limits don't apply to Grok Bot.
- Grok Bot is a separate app: agents with a computer, for work that takes a while.
- Grok Build is a coding agent for the terminal, in beta since May 25, 2026 (xAI).
- @grok vs @bot on X: tagging @grok gets the chatbot to reply in the thread. Tagging @bot sends the post to your own Bot as a task. If a post tags both, your Bot ignores it. @bot isn't available for X accounts in the UK, the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Australia (docs).
Privacy and safety
- Training: follows your Cursor privacy settings. With Privacy Mode on, your data isn't used for training (security).
- One shared computer: files, browser sessions and logins on it are open to every Bot. xAI's FAQ says "Do not use separate Bots as a security boundary" (FAQ).
- Deleting: deleting a Bot removes its profile, chats, memory, routines and attachments, but files and logins on the computer can stay. Deleting your account removes the computer, and its data is gone within 30 days.
- Reported problems: users on Cursor's forum have run into Gmail and Notion sign-in errors and Microsoft 365 lockouts. See Grok connectors not working.
Where Grok Bot stops
- It isn't free for long. After the trial, the cheapest new plan that includes it is Premium at $30 a month.
- One Gmail mailbox at a time. See multiple Gmail accounts in Grok.
- Still in beta, as of November 1, 2026.
- @bot on X doesn't work for accounts in the UK, EU or Australia.
Use Grok Bot with your other assistants
Grok Bot's plugins and memory stay in Grok Bot. If you also use ChatGPT, Claude or Muse, Upsy is one connector they all share:
- Up to five accounts per app, such as work and personal Gmail, each with its own access.
- Apps Grok Bot lacks, like Jira, Linear, Todoist, ClickUp and Airtable, through each service's own sign-in.
- Access per app: Full access, Read-only, Pick actions or No access.
- One History of what every assistant did, and email alerts if one sends or deletes a lot at once.
- One memory and one signed-in cloud browser for all of them.
To add it, sign up free at upsy.ai, click Add assistant, pick Grok, and paste the prompt Upsy shows into a Bot chat. In later chats, type @ and pick Upsy. The details are in how to add a custom connector to Grok. Choosing between agents? See Grok Bot vs Muse.
