How to connect Calendly to Grok
Connect Calendly to Grok so it can share your scheduling links and check your booked meetings, next to your Google Calendar.
Updated
Short answer
Grok has no Calendly connector. Connect Calendly to Upsy with your Calendly login, then add Upsy to Grok as a custom connector. Setup takes about five minutes, and a free Calendly plan is enough to connect. Grok can then find your open times, make one-time booking links, and tell you who booked what. Booking a meeting for someone else needs a paid Calendly plan.
The built-in way
Grok's connector docs list its built-in connectors: Gmail and Google Calendar, Google Drive, OneDrive, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and Salesforce. The catalog adds Box, Canva, Gamma, GitHub, Linear, Meltwater, Notion, S&P Global and Vercel. Calendly isn't among them.
Grok's own Google Calendar connector shows your events, but it doesn't know your Calendly event types, links or invitees. Calendly runs its own MCP server, a connector that lets an assistant use another app, and Calendly's help page says any MCP-capable tool can use it. You could add it to Grok yourself. Upsy adds:
- Access levels. Let Grok make booking links but never cancel a meeting.
- A History of every link Grok created and every meeting it cancelled or booked.
- Gmail and Google Calendar in the same chat, so Grok can reply to an email with a link, or check your whole day before offering times.
- One connection for Grok, Grok Bot, Muse, ChatGPT and Claude.
What you need
- A Calendly account. Calendly says you don't need a paid plan to connect. Some actions depend on your plan:
- Booking a meeting on someone's behalf needs a paid plan.
- Routing forms need Teams or higher.
- Grok on grok.com. Grok's docs say connectors are available to all Grok users. On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin adds connectors first.
- A free Upsy account.
Set it up
- Create a free account at upsy.ai with Set up Upsy.
- On Upsy's Apps page, find Calendly and click Connect. Sign in to Calendly and approve access. Calendly asks to read and change your scheduling data.
- On the Assistants page, click Add assistant, then choose Grok under Which assistant? Upsy shows a setup prompt and its address,
https://upsy.ai/connect. - In Grok, either:
- paste the setup prompt into a chat, approve the card Grok shows and open the sign-in link, or
- add it by hand: on grok.com, open Connectors, click New Connector, then Custom, paste the address and sign in. The custom connector guide goes through it.
- On the Upsy page that opens, sign in and choose Calendly's level for Grok. Click Allow.
- Paste the Help Grok remember message from Upsy into Grok, so it uses Calendly in later chats on its own.
Is Grok already connected to Upsy? Then step 2 is all you need. Calendly starts at Full access for every assistant, which you can change on Calendly's page in Upsy.
In Grok Bot, paste the setup prompt into a Bot chat, then type @ and pick Upsy when you give it a task.
Check that it works
Ask Grok: "Using Upsy, list my Calendly event types and who has booked with me this week."
Grok should name your event types, such as "30 Minute Meeting", and list this week's bookings with each invitee's name and time.
What Grok can do with Calendly
Calendly's tool list in plain words:
Looking things up:
- Your event types and their availability schedules.
- Open slots for an event type, and your busy times in a date range.
- Your scheduled meetings, with each invitee's details and any no-show mark.
- Your meeting locations.
- Routing forms and their submissions, on Teams and higher.
- Your organization's members and pending invitations.
Making changes:
- Create a one-time booking link from an event type, either as is or customized.
- Book a meeting for an invitee (paid plans). Calendly sends notifications as the event type is set up to.
- Cancel a scheduled meeting.
- Mark an invitee as a no-show, or remove the mark.
- Create and edit event types, and change their availability.
- Invite someone to your Calendly organization, or withdraw an invitation.
There's no tool to reschedule a meeting or delete an event type. To move a meeting, send the invitee a fresh link, or reschedule in Calendly.
Choose Calendly's level for each assistant:
- Read-only: only lookups that Calendly marks as read-only. Grok can tell you what's booked but can't create links.
- Pick actions: only the tools you tick. The usual choice is lookups plus one-time links, without cancelling, booking or changing event types. Tools Calendly adds later stay off until you tick them.
- Full access: every Calendly tool, including cancelling meetings and inviting people to your organization.
- No access: Grok can't reach Calendly.
Prompts to try
- "Reply to Marco's email with a one-time link for my 30-minute call, and save the reply as a Gmail draft."
- "Who's booked with me tomorrow, and what did they write in the booking questions?"
- "Check my Google Calendar and my Calendly open slots for next Tuesday. Which three times should I offer a client in Berlin?"
- "Make a single-use link for my Intro Call event type and give it to me to paste into LinkedIn."
- "Mark yesterday's 3pm invitee as a no-show."
- "How many Discovery Call bookings did I get this month compared with last month?"
The email and calendar prompts need those apps too. See connect Gmail to Grok and connect Google Calendar to Grok.
Troubleshooting
Grok says booking needs a paid plan
Booking a meeting for an invitee is a paid Calendly feature. On the free plan, ask Grok for a one-time link instead and send it yourself.
Grok wants to cancel a meeting to move it
Calendly's server can't reschedule. Ask Grok for a new one-time link to send the invitee, or reschedule in Calendly. If you never want Grok to cancel, use Pick actions and leave the cancel tool off.
Booked meetings look wrong
Calendly only knows meetings booked through Calendly. For everything else on your calendar, connect Google Calendar too, and ask Grok to check both.
Grok says it isn't allowed to create a link
Read-only leaves link creation out, because it changes your Calendly data. Switch to Pick actions and tick the single-use link tools. Refused attempts show in History.
Grok signs in to the wrong Calendly account
Remove Calendly on Upsy's Apps page, sign out of Calendly in your browser, then connect again with the right account. More fixes are in Grok connectors not working.
Security and privacy
- Grok never sees your Calendly login. Upsy keeps the sign-in and calls Calendly's server for Grok.
- Cancelling and booking reach other people. Calendly notifies invitees, so think twice before allowing those tools. Pick actions lets you allow links and leave the rest off.
- Cancellations aren't counted as deletes. Upsy's delete alert (50+ deletes in 10 minutes) watches tools that delete, and Calendly's cancel tool doesn't count. That's another reason to keep it off unless you need it.
- History in Upsy shows every Calendly call Grok made, under its name.
- Turning it off: set Calendly to No access for Grok, turn Grok off in one click, or disconnect Calendly in Upsy. Upsy also emails you when a new assistant or app connects.
- Upsy is made by Upstash, free for personal use, ad-free, and it doesn't sell your data.
FAQ
Can Grok schedule meetings with Calendly?
Yes, through Upsy. Grok can find open times and make one-time links on any plan. On a paid Calendly plan it can also book a meeting for an invitee.
Does the Grok Calendly integration work on the free plan?
Yes. Calendly says you don't need a paid plan to connect. Booking for someone else and routing forms need higher plans.
Can Grok cancel or reschedule my Calendly meetings?
It can cancel, if you allow the cancel tool. There's no reschedule tool, so moving a meeting means a new link or a change in Calendly.
Is Calendly the same as connecting Google Calendar to Grok?
No. Google Calendar holds your events. Calendly holds your booking pages, event types and invitee answers. Many people connect both so Grok sees the full picture.
