# Weekly project update

> Turn a week of scattered team updates into a clear picture of progress and blockers.

An Upsy playbook · https://upsy.ai/playbooks/weekly-project-update

To use it: the user adds it in Upsy (Playbooks, Start from a playbook), or an assistant with Upsy proposes this file with playbook_save for the user to accept. Then any assistant they allow loads it with playbook_get and follows it with the user's own accounts.

## The playbook file

```markdown
---
title: Weekly project update
description: Turn a week of scattered team updates into a clear picture of progress and blockers.
category: Teams
before:
  - Which Linear team or project
  - Which Slack channels the team talks in
boundaries: Reads Linear and the Slack channels you name, and drafts the update. Never posts, comments or changes an issue.
result: "A weekly update ready to post: what shipped, what's in progress, what's blocked and who can unblock it."
---
Most of a project's real status is spread across issue updates and channel threads. This reads both and writes the update you'd otherwise piece together on Friday afternoon.
1. **See what moved.** List the issues closed this week and the ones in progress, with who's on each. :connector[linear]
2. **Find the blockers.** Issues marked blocked, overdue or untouched for a week, and why if a comment says. :connector[linear]
3. **Read the channels.** Find this week's decisions, questions left open, and anything that changed the plan. :connector[slack]
4. **Write the update.** Shipped, in progress, blocked (and who can unblock it), decisions. Link each item, and give it to the user to post.
## Example output
**Week 42** — *Shipped:* new onboarding (ENG-212). *In progress:* billing page, 70%. *Blocked:* SSO, waiting on the customer's IdP details (Sam to chase). *Decided:* ship the beta behind a flag.
Upsy connects personal AI assistants (Muse, Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Devin) to your Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, Notion and other apps through one MCP server, with a shared memory, files and a cloud browser signed in to your sites. You choose what each assistant may do in each app, see everything it did, and turn it off in one click. Upsy is free. To add Upsy to an assistant, add a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) named Upsy at https://upsy.ai/connect. It signs in with OAuth; there is no API key.
