# Daily briefing

> Start the day knowing what's on, what's waiting for an answer and what changed overnight.

An Upsy playbook · https://upsy.ai/playbooks/daily-briefing

To use it: the user adds it in Upsy (Playbooks, Start from a playbook), or an assistant with Upsy proposes this file with playbook_save for the user to accept. Then any assistant they allow loads it with playbook_get and follows it with the user's own accounts.

## The playbook file

```markdown
---
title: Daily briefing
description: Start the day knowing what's on, what's waiting for an answer and what changed overnight.
category: Every day
before:
  - What counts as urgent for you (a person, a project, a word in the subject)
boundaries: Reads your calendar, email and Slack. Never replies, reacts, accepts an invite or marks anything as read.
result: "A short briefing: today's meetings, what's waiting for your answer, and what changed overnight."
---
A good morning briefing answers three questions before you open a single app: where you need to be, who's waiting on you, and what you missed.
1. **See today.** List today's meetings with their times and who's in each, and flag any that overlap. :connector[calendar]
2. **Find what's waiting for you.** Look for email from the last day that asks you something or names you, and that you haven't answered. :connector[gmail]
3. **Catch up on Slack.** Find direct messages and mentions since yesterday evening, and threads you're in that moved on. :connector[slack]
4. **Write the briefing.** Today first, then what needs your answer (most urgent at the top, with links), then what changed. Keep it to what fits on one screen.
## Example output
**Tuesday** — *Today:* 10:00 design review, 14:00 Acme call. *Waiting on you:* Dana asked for the Q3 numbers ([email](#)). *Overnight:* #launch moved the date to Friday.
Upsy connects personal AI assistants (Muse, Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Devin) to your Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, Notion and other apps through one MCP server, with a shared memory, files and a cloud browser signed in to your sites. You choose what each assistant may do in each app, see everything it did, and turn it off in one click. Upsy is free. To add Upsy to an assistant, add a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) named Upsy at https://upsy.ai/connect. It signs in with OAuth; there is no API key.
